Tatsu Works is a company passionate about connecting communities through Tatsumeeko, our modern fantasy RPG. We are looking for a Game Writer to work on Tatsumeeko, the next game expansion to our popular Tatsu.GG platform used by more than 1.4 million Discord communities. We place fun gameplay, awesome user experience and mass adoption at the forefront of our creative vision.
In your application, you are required to provide your own writing portfolio and samples.
Senior Game Writer Responsibilities
- Develop narrative design workflows.
- Build upon previous material to give depth to existing concepts.
- Develop lore for our players to understand the world of Tatsumeeko better.
- Collaborate with the rest of the non-writer creative team.
- Manage tasks for and delegate work to the writing team.
- Mentor other writers within your team.
- Be faithful to references if they are provided.
- Collaborate across different timezones with a mixture of local and remote teams.
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a narrative designer for video games, especially for JRPGs, Gacha or mobile games.
- Have experience working on long-term commercial projects with a cross-geographical team.
- Are passionate and familiar with JRPGs, Anime and MMORPGs.
- Have a keen sense of market appeal for our target audience (JPRG)
- Are able to give and receive constructive feedback, and collaborate with your team and across departments to develop an engaging narrative.
- Understand the intricacies of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalisation in written English, both American and British.
- Are able to adapt your writing to a “house style” to provide our players with a coherent gaming experience.
- Value multiple viewpoints and are able to integrate the ideas of people from different nationalities, genders and religions into your work.
- Possess top-notch communication, collaboration, problem-solving and project management skills.
