Tatsu Works is a company passionate about connecting communities through Tatsumeeko, our modern fantasy RPG. We are looking for a Principal Unity Developer to work on Tatsumeeko, the next game expansion to our popular Tatsu.GG platform used by more than 1.4 million Discord communities. We place fun gameplay, awesome user experience and mass adoption at the forefront of our creative vision.
As a Principal Unity Developer at Tatsu Works, you will play a crucial role in leading our game development with our engineering team. You will work closely with cross-disciplinary stakeholders such as Game Designers, UI/UX Designers, and Artists to drive product innovation while ensuring our game systems are built to be scalable, performant and maintainable.
Principal Unity Developer Responsibilities
- Bridge business, creative and technical vision in pursuit of product innovation and elevating user experience.
- Take charge of overall engineering architecture, processes and code quality.
- Contribute to technical strategic planning with the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering in overseeing products throughout their product lifecycle.
- Facilitate technical and product discussions, making decisions on behalf of the Engineering team.
- Mentor a team of Unity developers, providing technical guidance and contributing to continuous improvement of our practices and processes.
- Design intuitive systems minimizing the time and complexity for other engineers to learn about and maintain them.
- Optimize the game for performance, scalability, and maintainability with an understanding of how backend systems work.
You may be a good fit if you have the following:
- At least 5-6 years experience as a Unity Engineer and at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Excellent communication skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English is a must as it is the primary business language.
- Capability to work independently on continuous improvements while supervising small, cross-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in full-stack implementation including backend/server-side stack such as database designs and cloud services.
- Launched/published at least one cross-platform game before with CI/CD competency and experience in maintaining live operations.
- Experience implementing asynchronous and persistent multiplayer networking.
